A fully-fledged social network
Vine is a fully-fledged social network. You can like the videos that you enjoy, follow users, add hashtags to what you post to increase your popularity and much more. The clips you record can be then be broadcast on the Vine network or on Twitter. For now, the app doesn’t allow you to add filters. Perhaps one for a future update ?
140 characters followed by 6 seconds of video
Acquired by Twitter, Vine is currently the only app that allows you to add videos to your Twitter stream. The first thing that strikes you when installing Vine, it is its ease of use. Touch the screen to start recording then release your finger when you’ve finished. But why has this not been invented before now? It allows you to create dynamic montages. Sound is also integrated and can be used to punctuate your clip.
Free and supported by Twitter, Vine has everything it needs to become the go-to app to share videos, especially as its full potential still hasn’t been tapped into.
What's new in Vine?
The latest version of Vine includes new camera tools that offer additional, more advanced ways to edit your videos, as well as the ability to import existing videos from your phone.
In the capture screen there is now a button on the bottom left to access your camera roll. From here you can review videos of any length, and trim them to 6 seconds or less; upload a single video or mix and match to tell a story; undo your last recording; and duplicate or trim a clip in the edit screen. There is also a flashlight for recording in low light.
